For many students, piano is where a lifelong love of music begins. It is one of the most versatile core instruments to learn and provides a strong foundation for understanding music as a whole. The skills developed through piano—reading music, rhythm, ear training, coordination, and musical understanding—often make learning additional instruments much more intuitive later in life.

My own musical journey is a perfect example. Piano was my foundation instrument, and because of the skills I developed, I was able to learn the violin to a performance level within just six years. Learning to read music fluently, recognize patterns, understand harmony, and develop a trained ear through piano made the transition to another instrument feel natural. It reinforced my belief that piano is one of the greatest gifts you can give a young musician, whether they continue with piano for life or choose to explore other instruments along the way.

As both a classroom and private music teacher, I've had the privilege of working with students from preschool through adulthood, each with their own unique goals and learning style. I believe music lessons should inspire curiosity, confidence, and joy while providing students with the technical skills they need to grow. Every lesson is personalized, creating a supportive environment where students feel encouraged to ask questions, challenge themselves, and celebrate their progress.

Alongside learning beautiful music, students develop strong technique, music reading, ear training, musical understanding, and creative expression.

My goal isn't simply to teach students which notes to play—it's to help them understand the language of music so they become confident, independent musicians who can enjoy music for a lifetime.
